Fundy Designer alternative

When Fundy Designer is the better choice
If you sell wall art, design cards or slideshows and want all of it in one suite, Fundy does more than LAYON, and it has years of labs, templates and tutorials behind it.
When LAYON is the better choice
If albums are the job, you work on Windows or Mac, and you would rather pay once, or per album, than keep a subscription or a yearly add-on alive for proofing. LAYON imports your selected photos, generates the spreads, lets you refine every page on layers, sends the client a review link and exports print-ready files. That is the whole product, and it is all in the price.
Questions about switching from Fundy Designer
Is LAYON a good alternative to Fundy Designer?+
For photographers who design wedding and event albums on Windows or Mac and would rather not keep a subscription, yes. LAYON costs 199 € + VAT once for life, or 3 album credits for 15 € + VAT, with client approval, layer editing and print-ready export included in every plan. Fundy Designer is a broader suite (albums, wall art, slideshows) sold as a one-time purchase of the current major version or as a yearly or monthly subscription.
Does Fundy Designer require a subscription?+
Not necessarily: Fundy sells both an outright purchase of the current major version and a subscription. Its client proofing, however, needs the subscription or a paid yearly add-on on top of an outright purchase, and major upgrades are paid for outright buyers. In LAYON, client approval is included in every plan, and the license for life includes every 2.x update.
Can I design albums automatically in LAYON like in Fundy?+
Yes. LAYON generates the spreads from your selected photos automatically, and you can regenerate, cycle layouts or pick templates, then refine every page on layers.
Is LAYON available for Mac?+
Yes. LAYON 2 runs on Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit) and macOS 12 Monterey or later (Apple silicon and Intel), and one account works on 2 computers at the same time, Windows and Mac mixed. LAYON for Mac is new: until Apple has finished reviewing the developer account, macOS asks you once to confirm that you want to open it. Check the Fundy Designer site for its supported platforms.
